The beginning of the school year is the perfect time to recruit members and increase involvement within your chapter. You must develop activities that your members will want to participate in and keep them coming back to be a part of your chapter.
Here are a few activities that you can bring to your chapter:
A DECA Scavenger Hunt is a fun activity that can not only recruit new members but also involve your school. To plan this event, members of the chapter or chapter officers can hide items around the school that relate to DECA. They can be DECA Diamonds, toys, candy, etc. When these items are found, they will be brought to a place of the chapter’s choosing where they can redeem a prize.
Another fun activity that can involve your school is DECA Tie-Dye. This activity provides a fun opportunity for students and members to tie-dye a shirt that they can not only wear to DECA events but also football games, basketball games, etc.
Not only are cookies delicious, but they are fun to decorate! Have members decorate their cookies with what they think DECA is or represents. This can be hilarious and in the end everyone has a cookie to eat!
