The Emerging Leader Summit was an amazing learning experience for the Oregon DECA State Officers! The conference, held in Phoenix, Arizona, had three great days of leadership information for the officers to take in. This information included: how to run a workshop, how to effectively use social media, how to be more productive, and what each chartered association is currently doing to improve their State/Provincial Organization.
The Officers got to meet with over 100 Charter Association and Chapter Officers. In addition, the State Officers also met the new National Officers and the new Deputy Executive Director, Paul Wardinski. The Officers continued to work on their Program of Work, started planning for upcoming events such as OLI, and created a video for chapters describing how to make promotional materials.
However, it was not all work. The ELS attendees got to enjoy a night out for bowling and the Oregon Officers got to have dinner with the Nevada and California State Officers.
Overall, ELS was fun, productive, and informative!
