Oregon DECA is excited to introduce the 2018-2019 State Officer team! Here are short introductions for each representative in order to get to know each of the officers better. Full biographies can be found at oregondeca.org/biographies. Be sure to follow all the officers on their respective social media accounts as well as the Oregon DECA social media account at @oregondeca.

President: Attending Blanchet Catholic School in Salem, Nikhil Namburi is honored to serve as the Oregon DECA State President during his senior year of high school. As a competitor, Nikhil qualified for ICDC in seven out of eight events in the last three years. In addition, he placed 6th overall at the international competition during his freshman year in Sports and Entertainment Marketing. As your President, Nikhil wants to ensure that the concerns of the chapters throughout the state are adequately represented through active communication with individual chapters and the state as a whole. “I can’t wait for an amazing year of accomplishment and growth for Oregon DECA.” @ordeca_nikhil

Vice President of District 1: Sehajvir Singh is ecstatic to be your 2018-2019 Oregon DECA District 1 Vice President! As a competitor in QSRM at ICDC 2018, Sehaj is looking forward to meeting you all in Atlanta, Georgia. Sehaj has spent the last 16 years of his life living in Portland, Oregon, and he is a junior at Westview High School. Most of Sehaj’s time revolves around DECA, school, tennis, and occasionally, Fortnite. He is really looking forward to getting in touch with everyone across the state and nation. You can follow him on social media @ordeca_sehaj.

Vice President of District 2: Theo Lassen is serving as Oregon’s District 2 Vice President for the 2018-2019 school year. He is a junior at Sprague High School in Salem, Oregon. He is involved with his school’s water polo, swimming, and tennis teams. He hopes to travel across the globe in his future and visit several different wonders of the world. Theo is beyond excited to be working with the officer team to improve Oregon DECA. You can find Theo chillin’ on social media @ordeca_theo for Instagram and twitter.

Vice President of District 3: Born and raised in Medford Oregon, Philip Cary, has been an active member of DECA since his freshman year. Representing North Medford High School, Philip ran for District 3 Vice President in hopes of both bettering the organization and himself. Halfway through his junior year, Philip gets through his average day by contagiously laughing, working with his passions, and attempting to keep his flashy shoes clean. Philip wants everyone to know that if any member wants to contact him about the organization or even if you just need someone to ask you how your day was, to hit him up at @ORDECA_Philip.

Vice President of Communications: As an Oregon DECA state officer for 2018-2019, Kit Lance is thrilled to be representing Oregon. As a sophomore at South Medford, she aspires to become a surgeon, however, she hasn't decided for what specialty. She also holds great interest in adventuring, playing sports, and traveling. Kit will be attending ICDC for the first time this year for leadership and helping run the state conferences. She is beyond excited to get to know members from around the nation and experience Atlanta with everyone. You can find her @ordeca_kit on twitter and Instagram.

VP of Public Relations: Maya Bedge is the Oregon DECA 2018-2019 Vice President of Public Relations. She is a junior at Westview High School and will be competing at ICDC in Hotel Lodging Management. Her favorite part about DECA is the pin exchange at ICDC every year. Most of all, she considers DECA her second family and can't wait to meet all the Oregon DECA members at the state meeting in Atlanta! You can follow her on social media @ordeca_maya and find her traveling the state for chapter visits.
