Every year DECA celebrates DECA Month in the month of November. DECA Month is a chance for you and your chapter to show how much DECA means to you.
There are lots of things that go on during DECA month so there is plenty to do. First is the #DECAMonth Photo Challenge. This challenge is put out by DECA in November. It challenges you and your chapter to post a picture every day of the month, and each day has a specific theme to post about. Share those photos on all of your social media platforms, and make sure to tag @DECAInc, @OregonDECA, and use the hashtag #DECAMonth.
DECA Month is important for other reasons too! November 13th is the start of the DECA Ideas Challenge. This is the biggest event of Global Entrepreneurship Week and challenges students to be creative, use their wits, and make something truly original from an everyday item. This item is a secret until November 12, but students are challenged to come up with a new and imaginative use of the item. Then the students should pitch it in a three-minute YouTube video. Submissions are due November 20th, and the finalists will be announced on January 16th. The winners will be announced on January 23rd.
There is also the Western Region Leadership Conference. This conference will ignite a will to lead as thousands of students converge on Phoenix, Arizona for the conference that will be the highlight of your DECA month. With the presenters, workshops, excursions, exhibits, and more there is something for everyone to enjoy at this year’s Western Region Leadership Conference.
So, whether you’re looking to start off with some social media, use your entrepreneurial spirit, or network at the hottest conference around, DECA Month is shaping up to be one you won’t forget. Show off your DECA love this DECA Month!
