Over 450 students from the associations of Oregon DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, HOSA and SkillsUSA came together in Bend, Oregon on November 4 and 5 to learn more about leadership, each other, and their own organizations. Students participated in a two-day training which included a Mission Possible leadership session, breakout sessions, the always anticipated etiquette dinner and closed with a keynote from John Beede.
DECA students attended breakout sessions on personal leadership, money management, chapter officership, and competition. New DECA members got DECAfied with the State Officers and learned how to do a basic role-play. More experienced members learned advanced competitive tips and tricks, and attended a written events session presented by Bend Senior High School advisor, Kristen Torkelson.
We were excited to see the District I chapters of Century High School and Oregon City High School, the District II chapters of Bend Senior High School, Cascade High School and Central Linn High School, and the District III chapters of Klamath Union High School and South Medford High School!
